Additional Data

Glaciers in France are concentrated in the French Alps as well as in the Pyrenees. Mer de Glace, or Sea of Ice, is France’s largest glacier and the second largest in the Alps. It is expected to shrink dramatically in the coming decades; along with the Argentière glacier, France’s second greatest glacier, both have lost around 800 meters in length in the past three decades.
